“I am Ntuthuko Mtshali, a Civil and Permanent way engineer in Transnet Group Capital (TGC). I hold a BSc Civil Engineering degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. I joined Transnet Capital Projects, now called TGC, in January 2015 in the Civil and Perway department. Following the completion of my two-year training, I was appointed as a Civil and Perway engineer. Throughout my experience, I conducted permanent way geometric designs, road geometric designs and sewer and stormwater designs for Transnet’s depots countrywide. I also supervised construction.
I attended the Road to Registration course facilitated by Stewart Gibson back in March 2018. The course gave me an insight on how and where to improve my professional experience to achieve the 11 ECSA outcomes. Stewart also assisted me by reviewing my engineering report, technical engineering reports as well as preparing me for the professional review presentation. I finally obtained my professional registration on the 2nd of December 2019. I want to thank Mr Stewart Gibson, my mentor Mr Johan Lombard and my manager Mrs Zanele Suduka for their continued support through my journey to registration.”
