SAICE Professional Development and Projects (SAICE-PDP) was established by the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) and has been involved in capacity development since its inception as a Section 21 Company in 2004. Under the Companies Act of 2008, the company has become a Non-profit Company (NPC).

SAICE

SAICE is a learned society, established in 1903, to share state of the art technology with members to improve the practice of civil engineering and influence infrastructure development by offering strategic input to decision-makers. As part of its centenary celebrations it was decided to expand SAICE’s influence by forming SAICE-PDP.

SAICE-PDP

SAICE-PDP focuses on the development of engineering and built environment professionals from supporting students requiring experiential training, through to graduate development and offering expert advice to practitioners and organisations where required. Carrying out skills research forms an integral part of the business.

SAICE-PDP established the Candidate Academy in 2010 to support graduates and those who have gained engineering experience over time on their road to professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
